A laser for every task

There is no universal laser. Each system acts selectively on a particular structure in the skin – on pigment, on blood vessels, on tattoo ink or on the tissue itself. A device that seals thread veins therefore does not remove pigment spots. For this reason we keep several systems available and select according to the findings, instead of treating every skin change with the same device.

For hair removal we use a diode laser, for thread veins and redness a vascular laser, for lines, scars and eyelids a fractional CO2 laser, and for nail fungus and warts a long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser. Bothersome skin tags and seborrhoeic keratoses are ablated layer by layer with the Erbium:YAG laser – gently for the surrounding skin.

For pigment spots and tattoos we use the TattooStar Effect by Asclepion: a Q-switched system that combines an Nd:YAG laser with a ruby laser. This allows it to cover almost the entire colour spectrum of a tattoo – including green and turquoise, which devices with only one wavelength fail to clear.

What applies to all laser treatments

• Before the first session there is a dermatological assessment – not every skin change may be treated with a laser
• Consistent sun protection with SPF 50 on the treated area
• Certain medicines increase photosensitivity – please bring your list of medicines with you
• We do not treat during pregnancy and breastfeeding or during isotretinoin therapy
• Autumn and winter are the more favourable time of year for most procedures
