When is a mole suspicious?
The well-known ABCDE rule (asymmetry, border, colour, diameter, elevation) offers a first orientation – but it often unsettles non-specialists more than it helps them. What matters is the trained dermatological eye: with the dermatoscope we can see structures that remain hidden from the naked eye.
Certainty through histology
If we classify a mole as suspicious, we remove it as outpatient surgery under local anaesthetic. The tissue is examined in a specialist histology laboratory; we discuss the result with you in person. That creates certainty – in both directions.
